Since 2012, Firefly Magazines has been connecting people with positive, relevant local news across the UK.

We started in a small office in Consett, County Durham with one simple idea: share the good happening around us. That idea grew from one title into a network that now serves communities from Edinburgh to Birmingham and beyond.

We champion real people, real stories, and real community spirit. Every article is edited with care. Every partner is chosen for fit. And every new feature we build is there to support trust.

Firefly Magazines is a home for local storytellers. Writers, photographers, editors, and partners work side by side to publish stories that inform, connect, and inspire.

Founder Barrington Kirkham leads a small, focused team including Callum, Sara, Nathan, Mirrin, and Liam. Together we are shaping a smarter, more human approach to local media.
